An underwater view without getting wet

Discover Royal Sea Scope Sharm El Sheikh

You do not have to snorkel or dive to enjoy a view of the Red Sea's underwater world. Royal Sea Scope takes you out from the Sharm El Sheikh coastline and into a viewing cabin below the waterline, where large windows reveal the surrounding reef scenery.

Watch for colourful fish and coral formations from your seat, then enjoy the journey back towards the marina. It is an appealing alternative to a full-day snorkelling excursion for travellers who want a shorter marine experience.

Camel Transfers & Tours works with Royal Sea Scope in Sharm El Sheikh and can arrange your tickets and hotel transport together.

Is Royal Sea Scope a Submarine?

Royal Sea Scope is a semi-submarine. The vessel stays on the surface throughout the cruise. Its observation cabin sits below the waterline, allowing you to look out through underwater windows without entering the sea.

Although you may see the experience advertised as a submarine trip, it is not a fully submerging submarine. You board a surface vessel and descend inside it to the air-conditioned viewing area.

The main difference: you see the marine environment from inside the boat, rather than through a snorkelling mask or while wearing scuba equipment.

What Happens During the Trip?

The experience combines a short coastal cruise with time in the underwater observation cabin. The operating team directs boarding and access to the viewing area.

  1. Hotel collection: meet your arranged transfer at the confirmed pickup point.
  2. Board at the marina: join the Royal Sea Scope departure.
  3. Cruise towards the reef: enjoy the coastal journey.
  4. Enter the observation cabin: take your seat beside the viewing windows.
  5. Watch the underwater scenery: look for coral formations and passing fish.
  6. Return to the marina: meet your organised hotel transfer.

The operator describes the boat experience as approximately 90 minutes, with around 45 minutes in the observation area. Hotel transfers add to the total outing time, and the confirmed programme may vary with operating conditions.

Who Might Enjoy Royal Sea Scope?

Non-Swimmers

Enjoy an underwater view without entering the sea. The seated observation experience offers a way to discover reef scenery without swimming, snorkelling or using scuba equipment.

Families with Children

Enjoy an underwater view together from the cabin. The seated observation experience offers a way to introduce children to reef scenery without a snorkelling session.

Guests with Limited Time

Enjoy an underwater view during a shorter outing. The seated observation experience offers a way to include the Red Sea in your plans without a full-day cruise.

Share children's ages and any mobility requirements before booking. Staying dry does not mean access is step-free: boarding and reaching the lower cabin may involve steps and changes in level. We will check the relevant arrangements with the operator.

What Can You See Through the Windows?

The attraction is watching the reef environment from below the surface. Coral shapes, changing light and fish moving past the windows create a different perspective from looking down at the sea from a boat deck.

Marine life is wild, so no specific species or sighting can be guaranteed. Visibility also depends on the conditions during your trip. Enjoy the scenery as it appears rather than expecting a fixed underwater display.

You can ask about photography rules when boarding. Reflections from glass can affect photographs, so follow the crew's guidance and avoid blocking other guests' views.

Sea Scope or a Snorkelling Boat Trip?

Choose Royal Sea Scope if your priority is underwater viewing while staying dry. Choose a snorkelling boat programme if you want organised time in the sea and a longer day aboard.

Royal Sea Scope's Sharm programme is a viewing cruise, not a snorkelling or diving excursion. Lunch is not part of the standard operator programme. If those activities are important to you, request a separate boat trip instead.

For mixed interests: your travelling party does not have to choose the same activity throughout the holiday. A Sea Scope outing and a separate snorkelling day can serve different preferences.

Tickets and Hotel Transfers with Camel Transfers

Send your hotel name, preferred date and number of adults and children. We will check the departure and prepare a quotation for tickets and the agreed transport.

A standalone operator ticket does not automatically include hotel collection. When booking through Camel Transfers & Tours, your quotation will identify the outward and return journeys and whether transport is shared or private.

A private hotel transfer does not make the Sea Scope vessel exclusive to your group. If you require exclusive use or a larger group arrangement, ask us to check a separate proposal.

What to Bring

  • Your identification or passport, as requested by the operator.
  • Comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for boarding a boat.
  • Sun protection for time outdoors during the coastal cruise.
  • A securely carried phone or camera for your photographs.

You do not need swimwear for the standard viewing experience. Keep belongings manageable and ask about pushchairs or bulky items before arriving. Follow the crew's instructions throughout the trip.
